Part of the jox of boxmaking is being able to use individual, interesting pieces of wood, ones that would get lost in a larger piece, and use the box itself as a frame to show off these unique, one-of-a-kind boards.

A case of subtle, straight-grained quartersawn walnut really lets the wild figure of the kingwood lid shine in this piece.  A brass lift adds a touch of elegance, as does the copper-inked bottom liner & ebonized interior.  An interesting and unique piece for one as interesting and unique as its owner.
